LIBERTY – WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THAT AND WHAT DOES THE WORD SAY ABOUT IT!
It is a sad day when people kill others, take away other people’s Liberty, without provocation. Not in self defense and definitely not in defense of home and country. What is the world coming to when people kill each other under the guise of religion?
This day we wake up to a somber day, a day of mourning for the lost brothers and sisters in Paris France. People who woke up alive and now their loved ones mourn them. We pray for those left o life support and nursing injuries of all kinds, just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time…We pray for the Liberty of all souls living who need to just breath and focus on getting thru the day due to the events that took place yesterday…
Liberty…What is it. Are we free?
On a different note….
Vast multitudes of people over two million each year travel from all over the globe to Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell with their own eyes.
As people of all nationalities and cultures approach this iconic symbol of freedom, it’s not unusual to see them grow silent, stand in awe, and even wipe tears as they read the unforgettable, timeless inscription on the bell’s aging shoulder;
“Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”
This stirring quotation succinctly expresses the hopes and dreams of freedom-loving people from nations throughout the would, yet relatively few of the visitors to the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park, know that the words come from Leviticus 25:10. Or that the excerpted passage contains God’s clear-cut instructions for a jubilee, which commanded the Israelites, among other things, to free slaves and return property to the original owners every 50 years.
When will the Modern world and peoples be freed from terror. When will we understand that the world needs love and that killing of defenseless people going about their lives every time is a total degradation of what the very word they profess says. The Quran!
Lets go back to the Liberty Bells Jubilee….
Few believers today understand the ramifications of this once-in-a-lifetime Year of Jubilee. Yet few seasons on heaven’s calendar compare with the one we’ve just entered, and l believe God is getting ready to do something truly remarkable that will transform those who understand this historic season that is explained clearly in Scripture (Leviticus 25:8-9)
DELIVERANCE
God established a system that would continue to provide deliverance again and again by declaring a Jubilee in the land. With each new Year of Jubilee, each generation could be set free! And God is about to deliver His people once again, beginning with liberty! He truly desires to set the captives free supernaturally! Today, we must discover and understand the true meaning of liberty so we can return to God from servitude, from separation of exile, and from slavery to sin
LIBERTY THROUGH ATONEMENT
Historically, we tend to think of freedom in political and economic terms. That is because we can easily remember people in bondage to totalitarian despots, incarcerated in foreboding facilities, and locked in impoverished circumstances. We can remember seeing photos and films of slaves toiling under cruel masters, so that’s not difficult to envision. We can even recall people being imprisoned in unhealthy bodies.
But the Bible speaks of an even more horrible prison- sin! Sin destroys. Sin defiles. Sin brings bondage. So it is significant that the Year of Jubilee begins on the Day of Atonement. Yom Kippur is the Jewish name for the Day of Atonement. it is considered the holiest day of the Jewish year. This is the most solemn of all feasts, and the Day of Atonement was the time for national and sanctuary cleansing. The Hebrew name for this holy day comes from the word Kaphar, which means “covering”
In Hebrew, Yom means day and kippur means to pardon, or condone. Atonement, the English word, has the same meaning: to make amends or to reconcile, it was on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, that a covering, a sacrifice, was made for the previous year’s sin. Even today, the observance of the Day of Atonement is of utmost importance among the majority of Jews, even those who may not strictly observe other holidays. Attendance in synagogues on Yom Kippur is much greater than on the rest of the year. On this day, the people are, as they were then, to repent of their sins of the past year and to fast in symbolism of their true repentance. This is important to remember, especially as a foundation for our understanding of the first blessing of the Jubilee Year-liberty.
LIBERTY FROM SIN
Thankfully, we don’t have to remain locked in the bondage of sin. Nor do we have to wait until the Year of Jubilee to experience liberation from sin. That freedom has already been provided, once and for all, at Calvary. The sin of mankind nailed Jesus to the cross. All mankind was responsible for the crucifixion of our Savior. The Roman soldiers, the people watching, as well as you and l are guilty, for it was our sins- collectively and individually -that caused Him to come to the earth to give Himself willingly as the ultimate sacrifice.
God’s love is overwhelming. It was at the cross where both God the Father and Jesus His Son gave history’s greatest gift. (John 14:6) Christ was sinless, yet He became our Sin Bearer. Instead of symbolically cleansing us from defilement and death, the Lord cleansed us from actual sin. It was through His sacrifice at Calvary that the Lord Jesus removed the ultimate obstacle, sin, that had caused centuries of estrangement between God and people, thereby allowing the restoration of intimate fellowship with the Father; (1 Timothy 2:3-6)
PROCLAIMING FREEDOM IN EVERY AREA OF LIFE
Bondage to anything is a cruel master and not of God. Today, too many people are in bondage, mental bondage, spiritual bondage, economic and financial bondage…Fanaticism, is a type of spiritual bondage!
Also when you borrow money, you are in bondage to the lender. And God is getting ready to supernaturally set the captives free! (John 8: 36)
So look only to God and the word that will set you free…
