THE PRINCIPLE OF FAITH, HERE IS HOW YOU CAN UNDERSTAND IT BETTER
The principle of Faith is explained so clearly in Hebrews 11:1-6 THIS SCRIPTURE thus makes me wonder every day why some people have doubt in their souls and minds about faith and make it an act of either disdain or fanaticism. Its neither of those!
So I am going to try and dig a little deeper into the principle. The whys & hows on a more deeper yet simpler level so lets dig in 🙂
If Faith is the most important necessary element that is missing in our Christian life today, then why do so many disregard it? In (1 Corinthians 13:13) it clearly states that love, hope and faith of these three, the greatest is love. One of the reasons why the Lord appointed teachers is to enable them to deal with unbelief. When Jesus went to Nazareth, the Bible says he could not do mighty works there because of their lack of faith (Mark 6:5). The purpose of Jesus going through their village was to teach them to overcome unbelief.
Faith is an attitude whereby a person does not rely on his/her own efforts to attain deliverance, it is in Christ alone. Faith is not a magical power, position or feeling, neither is it a set of doctrines or creeds. Faith is the key that opens the door to God and trusting in His ultimate power of reality in the universe. Without faith we cannot reach God or receive His salvation. It is vitally important for us to discover what faith truly is, and that was the theme of the Apostles through Jude, they tell us all about faith, where faith comes from and how best to live it out in our daily affairs.
Time after time during many years as a Pastor, l have heard people making excuse of failing to receive Jesus as their personal Savior or failing to appreciate his power to live the Christian life and the number one excuse is this; I just can’t believe, l just don’t have faith. and the one that gets me every time is…”There is no God…”! One just has to look around them at the beauty of the world and the Life they take oh for granted! Yet believing is precisely what human beings are designed to do, the proof is found in this well known passage “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Heb. 11:6)
THE ROLL CALL OF FAITH
In the 11th Chapter of the book of Hebrews we encountered the roll of faith, the great record of men and women who lived by faith and accomplished amazing things for God. Those were ordinary people who did extraordinary things by praying into the power of God by the simple act of faith. They started that faith into full bloom by putting it to test, and with that analogy we see how faith of the Old Testament people was exercised and stretched until they were able to obey God without having any idea of what He had planned for them.
By Faith Abraham, when called of God to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, obeyed and went even though he did not know where he was going (Heb.11:18) The quantity of faith is of no importance but the object factor is necessary. Jesus has already made it clear that the quantity of faith is of no significance. (Matthew 17:20)
At this point allow me to share my Favorite Hymn about Faith
CHRIST THE OBJECT OF FAITH
Christ before and above all the prophets (Hebrews 1: 1-3)
Christ before and above all Angles (Matthew 8:10 and 1 Corinthians 3:23)
Christ before and above Moses (Matthew 5:17 and Luke 24:25)
The challenge to enter God’s rest (11 Corinthians 12:9)
I leave you with the above scriptures to meditate more on the Principle of Faith and how it applies to your life.
