RESTORATION

Restoration of your Possessions and Family in this Year of Jubilee and Mercy!

Ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. Leviticus 25:10

We are in the Year of Jubilee, which happens every half-century and brings seven distinct blessings, broken relationships, but God wants to bless you with restoration. Your bnk accounts may be a disaster and your family may be splintered, but God has a better way for you.

Restoration of your possessions

Soul Restoration

The great eighteenth century Bible teacher Matthew Henry wrote:

What was to be done in that year extraordinary; besides the common rest of the land, which was observed every sabbatical year, and the release of personal debts, there was to be the legal restoration of every Israelite to all the property, and all the liberty, which had been alienated from him since the last jubilee; so that never was any people so secured in their liberty and property.

No matter the reason why a person was separated from his property and possessions, the children of Israel were allowed to regain possessions with a clear, undisputed title.

The system was not considered unfair, since the Year of Jubilee was fixed. Everyone knew what would happen on the fifieth year. According to Matthew Henry;

  1. Their genealogies should be carefully preseved, which would be of use for clearing our Saviour’s pedigree.
  2. The distintion of tribes should be kept up; for , though a man might purche lands in another tribe, yet he could not retain them longer than till the year of jubilee, and then they would reert of course.
  3. Non should grow exorbitantly rich, by laying house to house, and field to field
  4. No family should be sunk and runed, and condemned to perpetual poverty.

Charles H. Spurgeon preached often about God’s blessing on the family, including these powerful words;

It will strike you at once that the locusts did not eat the year; the locusts ate the fruits of the year’s labor, the harvests of the fields; so that the meaning of the restoration of the year must be the restoration of those fruits and of those harvests which the locusts consumed. You cannot have back your time; but there is a strange and wonderful way in which God can give back to you the wasted blessings, the unripened fruits of  years over which you mourned. The fruits of wasted years may yet be yours. It is a pity that they should have been eaten by your folly and negligence. but if they have been so, be not hopeless concerning them.

“All things are possible to him that believes.”

There is a power which is beyond all things and can work great marvels.

What a wonderful picture of our redemption by Christ from the slavery of sin and Satan,and our restoration to the glorious liberty as a child of God. This includes restoration of your possessions, but that’s not all.

Restoration of your family

Jesus is the restoration of your family :)

God loves your family even more than you do, including those who are struggling with unbelieving sons, daughters, and grandchildren. Scripture says our heavenly Father is concerned for your family in many ways:

It is God’s desire for your family to build a great heritage: “May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children” (Psalm 115:14)

It is God’s desire to prosper you and your loved ones: So I leave you wit these scriptures to go and meditate and be uplifted as you do.  (Psalm 112, 2Peter 3, Acts 16:31)
